Registration is now open for tryouts for the 21-22 season!
All athletes wanting to be a part of SEV must register for and attend a tryout.
All spots on our teams are earned!

Tryouts will be held at Pine Drive Baptist Church
705 Hwy 517 in Dickinson.
Players will complete a 1-day tryout with their age group. Players may be asked to come in for a second evaluation. All Travel Teams and 15U and 16U Local Teams will be announced as soon as possible. 11U-14U Local Teams players will be notified of making a team at the end of the tryout and will be re-evaluated in the fall to formalize teams.
Sporting Edge Volleyball requires that everyone tryout in their predetermined age groups with the exception of players who are in a lower age bracket but attend school at a grade higher (ex. 13U but attends the 8th grade). Please see the USA Volleyball Age Divisions chart to determine which tryout to attend.
The tryout fee is $50 through our online registration and covers court time, evaluations, and a tryout shirt. Tryout fees for walk-up registrations increase to $65 (cash only). There are no refunds once registered, and we are not accepting refund credits for tryout registrations. If you do not show up, or if you try out for another club and choose to stay with them, your tryout registration fee is forfeited.
Check in will begin 30 minutes prior to start time. We will work to get you through check-in as quickly as we can.
WHAT TO BRING:
*$400 Non-refundable Deposit (Cash or Check) only processed upon the offer and acceptance of a position on a team.
*If you have never played at SEV, please bring a copy of your player’s birth certificate.
* Water bottle
Deposits are part of the overall dues for the season. By accepting your spot on one of our teams, you are taking away that position for someone else. Please be aware that your commitment is taken seriously, and we expect ALL parties to stick to their full season, once accepted. Region Registration is not included in this fee.
ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON REFUNDABLE UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES.
* Parents will be allowed to help their player check in but only players and staff will be allowed in the gym for tryouts.
* Masks are optional and social distancing will be encouraged.
* The facility will be sanitized each day and frequently touched surfaces will be routinely cleaned.
We will have a brief parent meeting at the beginning of tryouts.
It is strongly recommended to attend the regular tryouts but if you cannot, you will need to attend a make-up tryout. Late Tryouts are July 11. Team needs and other late tryout dates will be posted after initial tryouts.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT TRY-OUTS:
*Please arrive in plenty of time to get checked in and be geared up and ready to step on the court when the tryout begins.
* Players should wear comfortable shirt, court/running shorts, knee pads, volleyball/athletic shoes. Bring plenty of water.
* Players will be evaluated using individual skill drills and competitive play. Attitude and coachability will be factored in as well.
*Coaches will deliberate after each tryout and make team selections
*All 11U-14U Local Team players will be notified at the end of tryouts if they were selected to play for SEV and re-evaluated in the fall for team placement.
*All Travel Teams and 15U-17U Local Teams will be emailed within 24 hours. If you are selected, you will receive an email with all of the forms that need to be signed electronically and they must be received by SEV within 24 hours in order for your spot to be held. WHAT WE WILL NEED ONCE YOU ARE SELECTED TO THE CLUB OR A TEAM:
Completed online registration including Player Acceptance, Player and Parent Code of Conduct (signed by parent and player) and non-refundable deposit ($300-$500 depending on the team). Electronically sent (This holds your spot) If this is not completed within 24 hours of receipt, your spot can be given to another player.
Attend a uniform try-on in mid-August
Register for USAV-Lone Star. You will be emailed a link. Cost not included in fees. (not available until September 1
SEV CLUB REFUND POLICY:
Uniforms must be ordered by September 1st in order to have everything delivered in time for the season. If the season is cancelled before September 1st, you will receive a refund for all money paid up to that point minus payment processing fees. If it is cancelled after September 1st, but before the first official practice, you will receive all money back except for payment processing fees and those uniform items that cannot be returned (jerseys, sweat top, backpack, anything already worn). If we cancel any time after the first official practice, you will receive prorated dues minus the $400 uniform package (travel team $500) and $200 administrative fee. For example, 14U Local dues are $2500, if we cancel in February $2500-$400(uniform)- $200 (administrative fee)=$1900/5 months= $380x3(March, April, May)=$1140 refund if all dues were already paid. If all dues not paid, difference of amount paid and $1240($400+200+$760(January, February)).
